A player stricken with the plague
The plague is a deadly infection contracted primarily from the plague rat in the wolf caves. It is similar to disease in that it causes the player to rapidly lose hit points until a potion of cure is consumed or they die.
Symptoms include a blue-gray tint to the player's health bar and skin and chronic coughing. Unlike disease, the plague also causes blurred vision and slowness of movement — similar to the effect of the Scroll of Fatigue.
